How to Participate Who may participate? Whether you are participating in a actual in-service or would like to contribute to Collaborate and Create or The Learning Page for Students websites from a distance, this page will give you detailed instructions on how to contribute! What will I need? A writing program such as Microsoft Word (.doc), Notepad (.txt), or Wordpad (.rtf); Internet Access, and E-Mail. Your technology integrated lesson may be created in Microsoft Word (.doc), .txt. or .rtf formats, google docs, or open source (word processing programs). What type of lesson do I have to write/create? Your "lesson" can be a supplement to your classroom curriculum, or an idea or theme that you would like for students to explore, research, and learn more about. Does the lesson have to be detailed and lengthy? Not at all!! Write out the lesson for your students to follow- simple and specific! This is not a detailed lesson plan for teachers to follow in their classroom, but a lesson for students to access individually or in groups (depending on the availability of computers in your classroom/computer lab/school). Example of a 3rd grade lesson: Third Grade Social Studies After writing up your questions for students to research individually or as groups, search the Internet for educational websites on your topic. Choose only 1 or 2 for each question, no more than 3 for the elementary classroom. Middle and High School students may search for more information, but their websites should also be very specific and directed.
