My new position for the 2008-2009 school year is as a School-Based Technology Specialist for David Youree Elementary and Smyrna Primary, both located in Smyrna, Tennessee, less than 20 miles southeast of Nashville in Rutherford County (see Rutherford County Schools). I am excited about this new role promoting technology in both of these schools and am looking forward to working with teachers on integrating technology into their classroom activities.

I am also an Adjunct Instructor for a Masters of Arts in Educational Technology online degree for courses "Teachers Discovering and Integrating Multimedia" and "Measurement and Evaluation in Education" at Teacher Education University in Florida.

My undergraduate work was completed at the University of South Florida in Tampa. I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Jacksonville University in Florida in 1996 and graduated from the University of North Florida in December 2005 with a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. My cognate was Instructional Technology.

I have added the Administrator (BAL) endorsement to my Tennessee teaching license and am continually involved in professional activities. I present at local, national, and international technology and leadership conferences and seek new research opportunities regularly.

I am involved in professional development on the local level teaching technology integration in-services as well as sessions on using Excel for data collection and analysis and grant writing. I obtained Intel Master Teacher certification in 2004.

The effect of a collaborative professional development on computer technology integration in the elementary classroom was my dissertation research topic. Part of my research included the development of a web-based resource, The Learning Page. Teacher created lessons utilizing Internet based resources were posted on The Learning Page for students to access for active, directed, online learning.
